Unleash your chef's creativity!
Classes are designed by age and include a series of 5 classes in a session consisting of
Cooking Boot Camps, Food as Art, Finicky Eaters, Seasonal and Holiday Baking,
Weekend Family Breakfast, After School Snacks and Family Game Night ....to name a few.
Cooking can teach and enhance the skills of sequencing, time management, versatility, memory, attention and concentration in children.
Mastering the fundamentals of cooking helps develop creativity and provides kids with a foundation for a lifetime of fun in the kitchen. In our classes designed specifically for them, Chef Marcie will walk young chefs/bakers through five lessons of hands-on cooking adventures.
First, kids will learn kitchen fundamentals like how to follow recipes, measuring, mixing, and timing—and perhaps most important—kitchen safety. Then, she will teach them all about the wonderful world of cooking and baking, while encouraging their creativity and building a foundation for a lifetime filled with a passion for cooking. The adventure only begins with us, students will leave with a new found excitement for cooking as well as a collection of recipes that they can re-create and show off for family at home
Classes also include: A children's apron creatively decorated by your little Picasso, an art lesson or story as time permits and by the end of the session children will leave with an arsenal of easy to follow recipes along with shopping lists. Your child will love cooking alongside with friends and making new ones. Children's classes are designed to be enjoyed as a group with their friends. It has worked best to run the class in the fashion of a pseudo "weekly play date"
so classes are designed to rotate between homes to help create this feeling,
as well as, familiarize children with their own kitchens.
*Examples of Classes:
Kids Cooking Camps: For kids and their friends only. Use this time to run errands or grocery shop while your child has a blast creating tasty foods in the kitchen.
Food as Art: This class focuses on turning a combination of foods into art, taking pictures of their masterpieces and then devouring them! This is a child favorite and later children can teach the class to you and their siblings and do this at home as well.
Family Game Night Dinner: A fun class designed to be a guide for children to re-create a fun night at home to be shared with their family. This class encourages staying in as a family and bonding and promises to be a hit with the entire family. Kids will learn creative meal ideas and how to plan a night in with the family. This class encourages fostering the close family dynamic and what better way than to foster this than a night designed all around the family.
After School Snacks: Children learn simple recipes that they can make on their own or with simple help from a parent, giving them independence and a sense of pride while filling their tummies!
Seasonal and holiday baking: Focuses on seasonal baking and cooking for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Passover, Easter, Shabbat, Halloween, Valentines, Easter, etc.
Weekend Family Breakfast: This class focuses on making or helping to make a breakfast for the entire family to enjoy together. Your child will feel the rewards of helping out at home or on a special occasion such as Mother's or Father's day doing something special for you.
Finicky Eaters: Learn how to make eating fun, while introducing new foods
Mommy/Daddy & Me: This session is designed for you and your child to cook together. Cooking together is the perfect door to open up lines of communication in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. It is also a great way to bond together over a daily ritual that can now include your child. Help them with their independence and confidence while having fun cooking together and creating great dishes to be shared with the family or even making after school snacks together.
