About Chef Marcie

Chef Marcie grew up in a large family, who loved cooking. Being the youngest of seven children, the small kitchen was oftentimes off limits to her and of course this intrigued her even more. She learned to cook at a very young age, by sitting at the barstool peering into the kitchen and taking note of every step in her mother’s cooking. Without being able to cook herself until she was older, she first used her senses to learn to cook. Carefully watching her mother, smelling the foods, listening to her mother’s instruction and finally tasting the dishes. Throughout her teens and in college she cooked for others and kept on cooking as the compliments rolled in. After college, Chef Marcie traveled extensively tasting and recreating mouthwatering meals at the finest restaurants and cafés, and found her favorites to be in the Napa Valley. The skill she learned as a child, to cook with her senses, paid off when after dining out she had the inherent gift to go home and recreate the fabulous dishes she had just tasted. Her inspiration for cooking with children came from years of having her own children be her guinea pigs when trying out new recipes. Through the introduction of so many new tastes and flavors, she has overcome
the hurdle of finicky eaters. Her demand for teaching classes to adults happened by chance. After a close friend and neighbor would see Chef Marcie in the kitchen day after day creating delicious meals, the intimidated friend one day asked for a lesson. After several lessons and newfound passion for cooking there was a proposal from the friends boyfriend after a meal taught by Chef Marcie.....well the rest as you can imagine..... is history!
Chef Marcie’s passion for cooking is your gain as she makes cooking simple, yet delicious and above all FUN!
